New Year’s style resolutions
So the bright lights and sparkle of Christmas parties are behind us and I’ve just about climbed down from those fabulous heels I wore on New Year’s Eve. Normally, the first week back at work after the Christmas break would be enough to give everyone reason enough to be down in the dumps, but luckily, Madam Rage is on hand to give those new year blues a much-needed dose of fabulous fashion.
I don’t know about you, but I always feel better in the office when I look the part. Whether you work, you’re at uni or college or you’re a lady of leisure (lucky you!) you can count on one thing to lift your spirits – a gorgeous new dress. When this dress is enough to give Victoria Beckham’s designer numbers a run for their (very sophisticated) money, then you know you’re onto a winner. Especially at a fraction of the price!
So, today I donned this gorgeous stone coloured structured shift dress, which was an absolute steal at £10 in the Madam Rage winter sale.

After spending the last week of the Christmas holidays either spangled with sequins or slouching in my Christmas PJs, wearing something so sophisticated made me feel like taking the office – and 2012 – by storm. I teamed my dress with black cut-off leggings and black leather court shoes – just enough to make the look seem edgy without being too OTT for work.
The great thing about this dress is that I know the colour and the gorgeous, lightweight feel of it will be perfect when spring arrives too, with bare legs and girlie flats.
I don’t know if I had a bit of extra work swagger because of the dress or because of the Christmas break, but I felt so fab wearing it that I’m going to treat myself to it in black, too. The structured shape is great for nipping in waists and the shoulders give real definition without being gimmicky.
If one of your new year’s resolutions is to be more stylish, this dress is a great way to kick off 2012. Now let’s see if we can all stay in the gym and away from the chocolate…
Stay fabulous!
